I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. Eat lots of candy? I know I had a pretty awesome one. Halloween is my favorite holiday!
After refreshing the PSN store a ridiculous number of times last night, I finally got my hands on the demo for Mirror’s Edge. Getting behind controls was just as awesome and fluid as I had hoped from watching numerous trailers and gameplay footage. I am even more excited for its release next month (I’d better get my pre-order bonus messenger bag Gamestop)! Next time I’ll have an audio review of it.
Hopefully I will be able to secure a copy of Order of Ecclesia soon and share my thoughts. There are so many games that I was looking forward to this winter, and this Castlevania title has been especially high on my list. Speaking of Castlevania, I’ve been following the development of Castlevania: Judgement on the Wii, and I am not impressed. I know Igarashi has been wanting to do CV in 3D properly for a long time, but I don’t feel like this is a good direction for the series. Personally, I’d love it if the games always stayed in 2D, seeing as that’s where they excel. But I’m not entirely opposed to the idea of a 3D adventure title. This just is not it though, Castlevania should never be a fighter, and a poor looking one at that. I’m also pretty turned off by the character designs and art style. I love Obata’s work, but I feel it belongs in Deathnote, not Castlevania. Just look at these screens:

Atrocious! Poor models, and really floaty looking gameplay. I feel this is a title to avoid completely.
